Masuya Ryokan

A fusion of a traditional Japanese-style inn and modern sense.

Masuya Ryokan has been in business for about 200 years (the present owner is the 10th owner), and it is a 3-minute walk to The Main Hall of Izumo Taisha Shrine. This hotel is convenient for visiting shrine early in the morning because it is the nearest hotel from the Izumo Taisha Shrine among other hotels around there. The road in front of this inn was used for visiting shrine and there are some old houses with traditional Japanese atmosphere.

Although no original building of Masuya Ryokan remains now, it has been rebuilt according to the young owner's idea. This inn has seven rooms consist of four modern rooms (two Japanese-style twin rooms and two Japanese and western style suites) and three traditional Japanese-style rooms facing the garden.

Making use of the characteristics of relatively-small hotel, they are trying to offer homey and fine service such as hearty service, Shimane beef steak meal suggested by the young owner, the bath tapped hot spring water for the first time in Izumo Taisha area and refurbished guest rooms described above. Even among them, they especially place importance on meals made of local foodstuffs. Sea food caught in the Japan Sea like "Nodoguro" (high-class fish caught in the Japan Sea) are used for dinner and rice purchased from contracted farmers and freshwater clams of Lake Shinji are used for breakfast.

The young owner's modern sense is incorporated into the service of traditional Japanese inn, so you can enjoy a comfortable stay. His attitude of trying to meet the guest's requests and needs will surely satisfy you.
