Saginoyu-onsen(hot spring) in Shimane Pref. is located one minute walk from Adachi Museum of Art. This kind of complex that includes a museum of art and hot-spring area is rare in western Japan. Adachi Museum of Art has earned a reputation as the best garden in Japan from an American journal of Japanese gardens for over ten years and also received the highest rating in the Michelin Guide. So it has come under the global spotlight. This hot spring which is well-known for the effect of skin-smoothing was regenerated by the founder of Saginoyuso 100 years ago. Its radium-containing water is clear and colorless, and it springs 400 liters every minute.
As a matter of course, the hot spring of Saginoyuso is flee-flow hot springs. To enable you to enjoy all the blessing of nature is the most attractive point of this hotel. There are a big bath, an open air bath and two chartered bathes. One of the chartered bathes is an open air bath made of hollowed out monolith. A smooth touch of the rock and mild spring quality make you feel so good that you may forget about time.
A two-story building is located around the garden in the premises measure 6,600㎡. Ceramic works of Sanin region and local iron works are displayed in facilities and guest rooms with a Japanese traditional style. It has become elegant and relaxed space after the recent refurbishment.
You can see the garden from the lounge which you are first led to. Jazz music is floating and some books are placed there. Books are also placed in each room, so you can enjoy the place and time as you like. This hotel has been in business for over 100 years, but modern sense is incorporated into a traditional style. Besides, it is agreeable that the attitude toward customers with a cautious distance of the staff.
The attraction of this hotel is not direct showiness but Japanese modesty such as the abundance of hot springs, the beauty of Japanese garden, the comfort of Japanese-style room and the fineness of its meal made by seasonal local foodstuff.
