Japanese-style Hotel (Ryokan) in Nara, Japan
When visiting Nara Park, Mt Wakakusa is the grass-covered low mountain that you see first. Along with Todaiji Temple and others, it is a symbol of Nara and attracts many climbers.
“Nara Manyo Wakakusa no Yado Mikasa” is located halfway up Mt Wakakusa and built to take advantage of this location. The view over a cup of green tea in the lobby on arrival is spectacular. The Todaiji Temple in the foreground, the city of Nara stretches out before you, with Mt Ikoma and Mt Shigi in the background, offering a panoramic view of the Nara Basin.
Regrettably, it should be noted that not all rooms have a view. If you are staying here, we recommend staying in a room type that claims to have a ‘view’. The night view of Nara is one of Japan's new top three nightscapes, and its beauty is particularly memorable.
As a Japanese ryokan, it is well-equipped in terms of cuisine and a bathhouse with an open-air bath, and can meet the needs of small groups, groups of people and children. So, you can choose from among the many inns in Nara without any worries.
The fact that it is located halfway up Mt Wakakusa means that it is far from the city center and tourist attractions, and there may be concerns about luggage and pick-up and drop-off. However, there is an information center for this inn (4 Nakasuji-cho, Nara City, Nara Prefecture) in front of Kintetsu Nara Station, near Exit 5 North West, where luggage storage and pick-up and drop-off services are available. To drive to the inn, you need to pass through the Nara Okuyama Driveway, a toll road that climbs Mt Wakakusa, but you are also given a one-round trip service ticket.
Spring with its cherry blossoms, early summer with its fresh greenery, autumn with its autumn leaves and winter with its clear air - no matter when you visit, each has its own beauty for your stay.
