Guest House COCO Hiroshima

Hiroshima City’s first female-only guest house, COCO is now open.

Opened in November, 2017, Guest House COCO is a 4-minute walk from the South Exit of Hiroshima Station. It is the perfect location for you to use as your travel base.

The owner, a certified color specialist, wanted to open this guest house for two reasons. First, she used to visit her grandmother at her traditional Japanese Inn in the northern part of Hiroshima Prefecture during summer vacation, when she would help her out watching over guests’ shoes or doing other jobs. Second, while studying in England she stayed at a Bed and Breakfast. The family was so helpful and kind that she wanted to find a way to pay forward the kindness to visitor to Hiroshima.

The guest house is located right in front of a streetcar stop. The streetcars are a part of Hiroshima’s rich history. The clackety-clack of a streetcar draws out the sentiment of a traveler. The dormitory room is made of natural wood and the curtains in every color of the rainbow fill the room with color.

There are two shower rooms, a bit larger than the standard size with a special luxury-hotel type showerhead. There is a shelf for small items in the dressing room for your convenience. The entire facility has lofty ceilings to be more calming. Everything we do at COCO is focused on the concepts ‘Peace of mind,’ ‘safety’ and ‘comfort.’ We want to ensure all our guests have a pleasant stay. Therefore, even the cleaning products we use are surfactant-free and safe enough to put in your mouth.

Hiroshima City’s first female-only guest house is called “COCO”. “COCO” stands for Colorful and Comfortable. We hope that this Guest House COCO will become the lodging of choice for the female travelers to Hiroshima.
